Most common: light-headedness, dizziness, drowsiness, loss of muscle control, tremors, agitation, headache, depression, sleeplessness, rash, itching, fever, weakness, difficulty in breathing, low blood pressure. If one of these occurs, call your doctor immediately.
Cautions and Warnings
The effect of Carisoprodol on the pregnant female has not been studied. It may have an effect on the unborn child: if you are pregnant, you should not use this medicine unless it is absolutely necessary and this problem has been considered by your physician. Do not use this drug if you are allergic to it or to Meprobamate, Mebutamate, or Tybamate. This drug should not be used if you have the disease porphyria.
This drug may cause a rare, unusual reaction within minutes or hours after taking the first dose. The reaction consists of extreme weakness, momentary loss of control over arms and legs, dizziness, double vision or temporary loss of orientation. Although the reaction usually goes away within a few hours, hospitalization may be necessary.
Possible Adverse Drug Effects
Rapid heartbeat, flushing of the face, dizziness when rising quickly from a sitting or lying position, nausea, vomiting, upset stomach, hiccups. This drug may cause adverse effects on the blood system.
Drug Interactions
Other drugs which, like Carisoprodol, may cause drowsiness, sleepiness, or lack of ability to concentrate must be taken with extreme caution: sleeping pills, tranquilizers, barbiturates, narcotics, and alcoholic beverages.
